All JFS support groups and therapeutic groups are led by licensed professionals. Many groups are available at no cost.
For any group with a fee, we offer a sliding-fee scale, ensuring that no one is ever denied service due to an inability to pay.

Support Groups for Adults

Women’s Trauma Group
Every other Monday and Thursday

Breast & Ovarian Cancer Support
4th Wednesday of the month, 5:00-6:00pm

For Women
Hybrid Zoom & In-Person Options
Support group for women diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer, combining therapeutic approaches, wellness practices, and a Jewish perspective to reduce stress and promote overall well-being. The program integrates psychology and the concept of Binah (the Hebrew word for wisdom) encouraging women to connect with their inner wisdom. Homemade soup is provided.

Modified Yoga & Meditation for Women (Binah Cancer Support Services)
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 3:00–4:00 pm
Meets at the JCC Dallas
Gentle yoga and meditation for women of all abilities, including those recovering from illness, cancer, trauma, or stress. This program integrates psychology and the concept of Binah (Hebrew for “wisdom”), encouraging women to connect with their inner strength and intuition through pain-free movement and guided meditation practices.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapy Class
Meets in-person at JFS Dallas (Arapaho)
Screening for Applicants is Ongoing
DBT is an evidence-based treatment shown to be effective with:
- Controlling life-threatening and quality of life interfering behaviors
- Regulating intense, painful emotions
- Managing difficult interpersonal relationships
- Fostering more life balance
The goal of DBT is to create a life worth living. Skill areas are:

Grief Support Monthly

Men’s Therapy
Wednesdays weekly, 5:30–7 pm
Group meets in-person at JFS Dallas (Arapaho)
This process-oriented therapy group covers a wide assortment of issues affecting men including interpersonal relationships, family conflict and violence, parenting, dealing with unpleasant feelings, coping with anger, abusive experiences, and living an honorable life. This group provides an opportunity for people to gain insight, self-awareness, and behavioral skill and practice. Pre-registration is required. PLAN Family Support
Saturdays bi-monthly, 11 am
Zoom and On-site
The PLAN Family Support Group is for family, caretakers and others who have a loved one with severe mental illness, typically those diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar and major depressive disorder.
