Microsoft Series: Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel Course

This course expands on topics from the Microsoft Excel Advanced course held September 8–10, but don’t worry if you missed it— you’re still welcome to join and will benefit from the material!

Day 1 (Monday, September 15) – Lookup & Reference Functions

• VLOOKUP & HLOOKUP deep dive (limitations & workarounds)
• INDEX & MATCH combo for flexible lookups
• XLOOKUP (modern alternative)
• Using LOOKUP functions across multiple sheets/workbooks
• Practice: sales dataset analysis with lookups

Day 2 (Tuesday, September 16) – Logical, Text & Date Functions

• Logical functions: IF, nested IFs, AND, OR
• Error handling: IFERROR, ISNA, ISNUMBER
• Text functions: LEFT, RIGHT, MID, LEN, TRIM, CONCAT, TEXTJOIN
• Date functions: TODAY, NOW, EOMONTH, NETWORKDAYS
• Practice: HR/Payroll dataset cleanup & analysis

Day 3 (Wednesdy, September 17) – PivotTables & Interactive Analysis

• Building PivotTables from large data
• Grouping data (dates, numbers, custom groups)
• Summarizing with different aggregation methods
• PivotCharts basics
• Adding Slicers & Timelines for interactivity
• Practice: sales dashboard with PivotTables
